My laptop was going very slow, and I have downloaded the free version of Spybot, it only picked up tracking cookies but I have noticed that for some reason Mcafee keeps alerting me that my computer is not protected when clicking on fix it, it is ok. Do you think that this spybot download is causing the problem with Mcafee
Many Thanks:j

I wouldnt have thought it would be the Spybot. Has your McAfee subscription just expired?0

IIRC, McAfee say that their anti-virus program is not compatible with SpyBot.
Personally I would ditch McAfee and keep SpyBot, but that's just me.0 -
The reason for this is mcafee use a registry key to disable the security centre monitoring the anti virus state, this is typical of many spyware/early viri and spybot tells you so and fixes it.click here to achieve nothing!0

The new version of SPSAD has a process scanner called "TeaTimer", you will find that for a minute or two it will really hog memory and time on your laptop, then shrink down to nothing. You can turn this 'resident protection' from the spybot options if you like.Super geek.0

oh no just remove spybot and kept mcafee I pay for the security suite through aol after removing spybot mcafee seems to be working ok (fingers crossed) I'll see how I go. Mcafee should be scanning for spyware also thought spybot was clashing and my computer wasn't protected 3 times in one night0
