Then you don't need to install anything extra, on either pc.0 -

I was merely commenting on your statement that Powerpoint can't open Impress files. If anything I don't think Impress can save in current Powerpoint file format only the older one."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Edit: I've just checked, and from the current version of Openoffice, you can save directly to Powerpoint 2007 format. However, I'd save in the older Powerpoint version anyway, unless you know the laptop you will be using for the presentation has the new version or the compatibility pack.0 -
Openoffice also has the ability to export to PDF. Most PCs will have Adobe Reader installed so it would be a good idea to save the presentation in PDF format as a fall back. Don't forget to keep the original though. Once you've exported something to PDF, you can't easily edit it afterwards.
Edit: at the risk of information overload, there's also a portable version of Openoffice that'll run from a USB drive. No need to install it on the computer you're using. See http://portableapps.com/apps/office/openoffice_portable0 -

no, she didn't have - I wondered that.
Anyway, she's downloaded the 60 day free Office trial and as I understand it is feverishly working on the presentation now for tomorrow in the garden.:DPay off a Debt by Christmas 2008 Challenge: £1500 overdraftTotal paid off: £235Comping: July wins: The Who tribute band tickets (£24), MP3 download, Man Utd DVD (£17), Life's too F'ing short book (£13)0
