i know it sounds like a crazy idea but i have two doors into my front room and one of these we haven't used for years and years so want to block it up.. instead of wasting the space i would like to put up some shelves for books or something and make a sort of feature..
any idea how to go about it?? it from the hallway by the front door so ideally the 'book unit' would be on the hall side.. and the front room would be plastered as if it had never been a door there.
what do yoy DIY ers think and what's the best way to do it please..

If it's a single skin wall which is a probability then you wont really have enough depth for books.Maybe paperbacks only.0
