Isa transfer + Nationwide

I have Power of attorney on my mothers accounts. To make life easier for her I am transferring her Abbey toisa into her her Nationwide isa. This is not done for higher interest but as its local and she still prefers a passbook.
I put the transfer in nearly 3 months ago. I had a letter from Abbey about 1 1/2 months ago saying the money had been sent. As the money had not been credited to my mother account I rang the ISA transfer line at Nationwide. It took them 25 minutes to answer the phone (disgusting) I was told they had the money but it would be another month before the could sort it out as they had a massive backlog. This is bad for a large banking organization, what are they doing, as they certainly are not manning the phones. If my Mother needed this money at anytime soon, she would not be able to get at it.
