Sorry to read that you have been feeling "meh" these last few days. As for the results - am with you there - DD spectacularly flunked her AS so has decisions of her own to make. Never easy, this parenting lark. Still, on the bright side, will save me £££££ on uni fees!

    Goodmorning Lucille,:)
So glad you are feeling better, Hope you don't mind me popping in your diary I always read it and I was worried when you sounded so down. You are an inspiration to us all how you keep debt busting, Its easy to get down sometimes especially when other people and their families everything seem to smoothly, but I think the reality is a lot of the time it's not so wonderful and things are hidden under the carpet, and people like to give a good show. Just be proud how honest and open you are.
My son now 21 Didn't get his grades and messed about doing different couses and only now is getting himself sorted. Its really good your son likes what his is doing and interested in his job. I wish my son knew what he wanted to do. You are so good with your diary I keep promising myself to start one, it might keep me on track. Anyway have a good weekend. Savvy x

Thanks for posting chaps, it has been a very difficult 2 weeks and things from the past needed dealing with. Not sure I'm 100% there but progress has been made. I have been lurking on somebody elses thread that brought things to a head in my life and grieveing for a person I may have been. I know this probably doesn't make much sense to anybody else but I know what I'm rabbitting about.

Right need to go and wash my mop. Bacon butts for dinner, when OH gets back. Slowly getting to grips with the accounts as its VAT return to do in September. Our chap who fills in when OH is at work is spot on with his payments, its OH who still needs lots of training. Sigh.

Hi Lucille, sorry you are going through a dark time - hope you feel better for dealing with the past troubles. Good luck at the show! And don't worry about your DS - having a proper job and responsibility will be really good for him and he'll have more maturity than most of the kids staying on at school. Academic achievement is not for everyone. I also think that in the coming years, with peak oil, financial collapse etc, there are going to be far fewer jobs for people who only have academic skills.

It makes sense to me to and I can relate to same subject. I think sometimes we give ourselves a tougher time than we really deserve. Our kids are good young people and they will all eventually find their place in things. I think we all expect so much of them. I think back to when we left school no-one ever expected as much of me but we all did ok.:j Its probably better to think of the here and now and do our best than dwell too much in the past. Weve all made mistakes and some choices werent the best. ;) Congratulate yourself on what you have achieved.

Slinks off and wonders why I dont take my own advice!!!!:rotfl:

Did the show yesterday, didn't sell anything but it was more of a PR exercise. Quite a few people had heard of the business and were going to call in, so hopefully it will pay off in the long term.

Can't believe the hols are nearly over. This time next week 2 of the chaps will be back at school, DD1 has an extra day off. Today DS2 is going to his friends, I'm planning on cleaning out the fridge, moving it and scrubbing underneath.

Have been in pain since Thursday morning with an upset stomach, hoping it will go soon.

Had a sad but satisfying day pulling the fridges and tumble drier out and scrubbing underneath, even found £1. Just shows where there's muck there's brass!!! Supposed to be going line dancing tonight but I'm giving it a miss as DS1 really needs to sit down and decide what he wants to do. I've got colleges phoning me up to see if he's going there.

Got roast chook for tea but am wondering why I'm bothering as DD1 is at her frineds house, DS2 isn't hungry, OH won't be back till late and I've a sneaking feeling DS1 has gone to the chippy as its his chip night. Plenty left overs for a pie maybe. Put some cous cous to soak for a couple of my dinners tomorrow.
