I live in the frozen north - go as far north as you can in scotland, till you hit water - and then keep going some more!0 -
I have done an online order for delivery on Tuesday 1st July from Asda and have ordered 15 packs of butter to freeze and some of their other offers and they are still coming up at 50p. I have had the confirmation email...will I still get them at 50p

I did a shop with Tesco a couple of weeks back, some of the things I bought were on offer but came through at a higher price, I emailed them and the reply i got was that we get charged the current instore prices. I don't really think its fair because you cannot change an order on the day of your delivery. You can return the items though if you are not happy, they will then refund in full.0 -
30 miles - you are so lucky! My nearest Asda is over 200 miles away - same with Mr T - although we will have one in about two weeks time.
At the moment the only supermarket we have is the co-op...
yeah, as i said, tescos get everywhere - anyone heard about the tesco/ecotown deal on the news today? - tesco claim not to build on greenfield sites... until it suits them.
at least co-op have a long standing fair trade ethos.0 -
I know its of the subject but im just looking at houses in the Isle of Sky, Will google to see if the mighty T has made it that far. with its so called bargins. :rolleyes:0

I would love to use independant butchers, fruitiers, asian markets etc but unfortunately there are none close enough to make it viable:o
We have a pretty decent butcher price wise about 10 miles away, but to get the best deals you need to buy in bulk..as in, for example, trays of various cuts like chicken, pork, braising steak etc for £10 each or three trays for £25...or mixed joint pack of maybe leg of lamb & pork plus a bit of beef for £20...4lb sausages for a fiver. It's ok if you've room in a large freezer & the cash to buy it, but not very helpful to those on a very restricted budget.
I have no idea where an asian/eastern market would be& our local open air market has prices that leave a lot to be desired:mad:
I do so envy you lot with all those wonderful budget-type shops like Poundland etc...perhaps I ought to move:rolleyes:Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Although Co-op are more than happy to charge higher prices in places when there is little competion, not a very fair approach when it's usually the old and those without transport who are forced to shop there....Piglet

Been to Asda today and the only thing they had left at 50p were packs of 6 SmartPrice eggs. No SmartPrice Butter - or anything else that I could see. Their SmartPrice spreadable (which is delicious by the way!) has gone up to 84p for 250gms  but their Asda Spreadable had been 'rolled back' to £1.00 for 500gms - maybe to compensate for lack of the butter.0

I popped into Asda (Benton, N Tyneside) yesterday to look for the 50p items. I managed to get the bananas, but all the butter, cherry toms, grapes, melons, bread and sausages were either all gone or we not there to start with. I generally don't shop in Asda, but I was taking my mum to a shop nearby, and thought I'd try to get a bargain, but it was not to be.0

Afraid that if you go to Isle of Skye, your nearest Tesco will be a TescoMetro in Fort William (70 miles) where there is also a Morrisons.
On Skye there is a small Somerfield and a Co-op in Portree and a Co-op in Broadford. Apparently Tesco and Lidl have both succesfully applied for planning permission to build in Portree - but nothing done as of yet!0
