It's like the extended warranties; the company makes lots out of them so it’s worthwhile trying to sell it to suckers. Working on the “fear” part of fear-and-greed.

They keep phoning DW trying to sell her this insurance ...  She did once take it out (thinking she was doing the right thing) but as I explained she does not work (apart from looking after me ... and the dogs) and the insurance is therefore useless.  The people on the phone that are trying to sell this are obviously not the cream-of-the-crop intelligence wise because even if she tells them that she does not owrk they still try to sell it.

I suppose I should get her to take it out and then make her redundant... replace her with Kylie Minogue.

;D ;D ;D .... now hoping that DW does not read this thread otherwise certain parts of my anatomy could be extracted and placed in a pickling jar on the fireplace.

Ok, but they hard sold it to DW based on it paying out if she became ill - either the people at the end of the phone did not understand their own product or were acting fraudulently ... and for the sake of my whealth, I have to believe the former.

the agents being dumb - nope they make a sale and get comission, who cares if the customer needs it.

the management dumb - nope they make bigger profits and get a bonus, who cares if the customers need it.

the corporation dumb - nope they make bigger profits, stock prices rise, stock holders are very happy, board members get big bonuses, who cares if the customers need it.

You get the idea, it's just business.
