Despite loving BT's service, it was simply too expensive so I decided to take a chance on Talk Talk's curent offer, detailed in Martin's email of 11th June.
Having signed up online on the 11th, I then started to worry about all the things that could go wrong - I've read LOTS of horror stories!
Overnight got a confirmation email, saying welcome and giving my going live date as 5th July. Then a letter to the house clearly explaining what would happen. Modem arrived promptly, with another letter, both saying the going live date was now 25th June. Which it was!
Talk Talk quickly got in touch with BT - (BT letter was dated 12th) stating the transfer date and listing what they wouldn't be supplying after that. I did phone up to cancel the broadband, but that had been taken care of by Talk Talk too!
CD to install new wireless modem worked perfectly on PC in less than an hour, I also managed to connect up my Macbook in three minutes flat! (I'm not too bad with technology, but not a whizz by any means!)
A helpful welcome pack from Talk Talk lists all the helpful usernames, passwords, numbers... all in all - I'm impressed! (And very relieved!)
I wait now to see how well the billing procedures work, but so far so good!
Well done, Talk Talk. I'm a happy customer, hoping to stay that way!!!!

If they tell you your line is being upgraded worry about it. Both my parents and my sister ended up having no phone or internet for quite a while. Parents phone kept stopping working and found almost impossible to connect.0
