Hi all,
I'm really getting into this!!
So far I have £40.00 in tips (we shared out the tip jar from my 2nd Job) and I sold a bottle to the local pub for £10.00. I have 2 mystery shops booked for the next week at £10.00 each.
I have requested my Ciao earnings which total a massive £17.00 for god knows how many surveys!
And i'm just totting up my ebay sales for the week.
Just wondered how everone gets on with sales from Amazon? Do they take long to sell? I have a few books lurking about0 -
Thanks for the collective kicks up the rear - i certainly need the boost i can tell you! I am alone for this morning at least - VERY unusual for me as we both work from home but trying to get focused instead of spending extra time doing 'me' things. Slightly scuppered by a long phone call but have decided that I will at least CONCENTRATE on making money between 11-12, which means checking the website, doing a little updating, taking photos for evilbay etc. Had an enquiry last night on the site & might have sold something, but that money is spoken for really. Still it is there & although i have to make a phone call (the money will be in a different currency) it should go through OK I hope. Apathy is my problem, I have the stuff to sell but can't get myself motivated to DO it. Trouble is I prefer the OS MSE way so am faffing around in the kitchen making HM everything whilst neglecting the real money-making stuff.......................New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear0

I have sold lots of books through amazon Marketplace, and also some CDs. The best books to sell are reference/non-fiction books. If you want to sell paperback novels, you will find that there are hundreds listed for 1p each, so you would only be making a profit on the postage. I find I can get more profit for novels at a car boot sale, for far less bother. amazon do take a pretty hefty cut from your sales, but it is still worth it, because of course your book is being marketed to millions of perfectly targeted customers.
Non-fiction books tend to sell for relatively decent prices. I sold two maths books last week for over £37 altogether, but that is rare. Usually I get between £4 and £15, depending on how many others are on sale. I nearly always list mine at the cheapest price for its condition, but I don't try to undercut those being sent from the US. I think UK buyers prefer to buy from a UK seller, and I always make clear I am a UK seller in my write-up on each book. I also don't undercut people with poor feedback (say <90%).
When pricing, I also consider the fact that the buyer has to pay £2.75 postage on top of the price of the book. Depending on your price, it might mean it would be cheaper for them to buy the book new along with one or two others, and get free postage from amazon. So my price is usually at least £2.75 cheaper than amazon's new price.
I find that when I put up some new listings, some books go straight away (within two or three days, sometimes the same day) others hang around for a while, but will go in dribs and drabs over two or three weeks. If someone has undercut me, I might reduce the price a little. amazon make it easy for you to see how your price compares with everyone else's and it is easy to edit your prices.
Always be scrupulously honest about the condition of the book, as you don't want a disappointed buyer who will leave poor feedback (mine is 100%). If there are marks / stuff written inside the book, make this clear, it will still sell if the price is right. If the cover is a bit bashed up, say so, most people won't care as long as you've told them about it. Despatch the book as soon as you can and by First Class post. Your buyer has paid £2.75 for postage, they are entitled to speedy despatch of their book. Wrap it up well - I always wrap each book in bubble wrap salvaged from other things - and put a note in thanking your buyer.
Gosh - didn't mean to write an essay  . But hope it helps.0 -

Sometimes you can force pigsback to give you more free points by keep on clicking the home button. Doesn't always work but sometimes it does.
Well I made some money at Sainsbury's today only £1.12 partly thanks to Move Me and the free bottle of Candida milk. I did buy one of their magazines too because I plan to send them a recipe and the added attraction was the free cereal bar.0
