Take house off market and rent out?

Ok the scenario is that my grandma sadly died earlier this year. Her house was left in the Will to my mum & her sister.
The house has been on the market now for around a couple of months with only 1 viewer so far.

Anyway, today she has received a call saying that someone is wanting to rent the house but needs an answer pretty quickly about it (as in maybe by tommorrow).
Having never rented a house or anything like that it's not really a decision you can just make at the drop of a hat as we don't know much about what it entails.

Obviously the way the housing market is at the moment could mean the house could be on the market for a while with no buyers where as renting brings in some rental income from the house but also means that it is likely to be taken off the market as you won't be able to sell it with someone in there renting.

What are the big issues with regards to renting as currently we don't really know? Any help and advice would be greatly received! :)

Cheers
Wardy

Where or how did this approach come? If you have not given cause to think it might be for rent and you don't know the people, be suspicious. Don't be rushed either, this makes me suspicious.
After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
    To dissolve the people
    And elect another?
