Hi,
i am not a going out and getting sloshed type of person so i opted for a pamper party, i contacted the local beauty salon and had 3 beauticians sent, one for facials one for nails and one for massages.
i sent everyone a invite with a price lsit for the treatments which cost between £4 and £15.
the evening went well and some food was eaten and all the wine drunk.
i would reccommend as it was a real treat for me.

I am thinking of doing this - and I'm an early 20s first time round-er - not everyone wants to go out and get slaughtered and come home with a condom on your head.
How about a murder mystery party?!
I'm having an at-home hen night too and I'm also early twenties. But our reasons are more that it's cheaper, clubs aren't fun any more (maybe I'm getting old) and a lot of my group smoke which you can't do ANYWHERE now.
I'm having a champagne party, everyone brings champagne and an interesting mixer/liqueur and we make up interesting cocktails. Am also borrowing an PS2 and singstar game for fun karaoke competitions and probably girly make up and hair (practicing for the big day - when drunk!)
Whatever you do i hope you both have a great evening and good luck on your big days!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

I arrranged a at Home Hen Afternoon for my FDL last year (her Mum & Best Friend live in the North).
It was a great afternoon and went on till past midnight LOL.
Here is what I arranged:-
I asked for a list of all her friends and then sent out invites, on each invite I wrote a hour of the day, I explained that the number corresponded to the time of day and they had to bring a small gift that matched the time (i.e 8am a mug with a T bag in it, 11am a jar of coffee and so on) I asked the Girls NOT to tell the future bride what we were doing), this went really well and we spread the gift giving during most of the afternoon/evening, there were some great gifts that didn't cost a fortune! DL loved it.
Also I did a quizz for the Bride to be and asked her questions on the groom i.e What his favourite car/meal/actress is, what are his cousins names, what school did he go to etc, I made sure I had the correct answers from my son first! again it was good fun.
We also did pass the parcel, which was really funny.
All the girls bought something to eat and a bottle, plus we made a huge jug of sangria.
I made party bags for the girls to take home (freebie samples, tissues, love hearts etc.
I had loads of thank you's for a great party and lots of requests of "Can you arrange my Hen day" when I get married, also one very happy and appreciative FDL
