HSBC withdrawing free Rail Card offer soon...
Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere. Daily Mail on Wednesday reported that the free Rail Card offer for student accounts, was being withdrawn before the end of August. Always seemed a good perk, dont leave it until September to open your account.

Gap year instead...
Looks like my plan to open 7-8 student accounts for the 0% overdrafts isn't going to happen this year. Got offered a job a day after my results so will be deferring my entry till next year. Student Credit Cards
I've got a Barclaycard Student card and a Capital One basic C/card. Does anyone else do specific cards just for students as my credit rating, whilst not utterly crap, is just so-so and it appears some lenders shy from giving money to mature students/single mothers living in council houses, with no income for the next few…

Deficit Banking & multiple 0% interest account
My first question obviously is: is it legal for me to open multiple student accounts? If it is then it seems there is a potential to go wild with Deficit Banking and perhaps earn >£500/year with this method. An online savings account could pay >4% interest on a specific day and they don't really have any limitation as to…

25% off at HMV!!
This is a great deal for students with barclaycards. You can call barclaycard to purchase hmv vouchers at 15% off (if you have a barclaycard!), so for instance you can get a £20 voucher for £17, but then you can also use your NUS card to get a further 10% off, so a £20 item would cost you £15. Offer also applies to…
