Lgps defer or not?
My wife has reached 60. She has a frozen pension for a LA. The income is not really needed at present but we are getting conflicting advice on wether it is better to defer for a few years or take now and invest in ISA or similar. Any comments would be welcome Thanks in advance

Nat West Deferred Pension
I left Nat West in 1989 with a non-contributory pension held until retirement. I've just had a transfer value of approx £70 k. I also found out that if I die before I claim the pension, this fund disappears (?), although there is some discussion about 5 years pension being paid to my estate in this circumstance. The reason…

Please help with pension advice!
Hi! I am female in my early 40s, self-employed (higher rate tax payer) with no dependants. I do not pay into a pension plan of any sort. I can afford to pay £500 per month into a plan and am looking to invest over 15-20 years. I have a low to medium attitude towards risk. In 20 years, I will be mortgage free. I would need…

Lgps
My wife has been a member of a local Government Pension scheme since 2002 and its rules/benefits have changed a few times over the years. Am I correct in thinking part of her pension will be payable at 60 another part at 65 and the latest part at state pension age (68)? Or does it not work this way? Thanks, Mark

I was hoping somewhere here could help me out. Basically I have recently left a job and have a small amount of cash in my pension. Job #1 gave me the option of either…

My daughter doesn't want to get involved with paying over the odds for such minimum requirements. Can anyone recommend a company that provides a…

Maxing out Pru AVC with LGPS
We retire next year, and OH has a pot with LGPS, say it was £240k. She pays AVCs in to Pru, currently say £30k. Now, under the special rules agreed by Pru and Revenue, the AVCs can be lumped with the LGPS pot, so say currently £270k, and OH can take 25% of combined total Tax free, then the FS pension. So, in theory, in the…

Has Anyone Heard Of Action In Retirement (Peterborough), please
Hi everyone I'm a little worried about this as my Mum has mentioned that she has been liaising with this firm to transfer her and my Dad's pensions, as they have both retired within the last month. I note they have only been trading since 2012...it's ringing alarm bells for me, I'm not up on pensions but I have a bad…

A pension of £9.36 a YEAR!
In the early 1970s, my employer for a few years had it's own pension system. Now aged 71, I've asked the company for a quotation. They are offering only £9.36 a YEAR. As the fund had been invested for 30 years, the value offered appears to be very low. The last job I had before retiring, pays me £15.64 a MONTH. I worked…

Company Pension not fully funded
I have a deferred pension from a large UK based manufacturer. Over the last decade they have sold off a large part of their business so there are now something like 30000 pensioners, 15000 deferred members but only 2500 active members. My concern is that as of March 2013 the plan was only around 75% funded and given the…
