Water meter (boundary box) covers
Many meters are being installed by Severn Trent in our area and they now use a type of cover I've not seen before. They seem to have no way of opening them, and as a matter of curiosity, I just wondered if anyone knows how they are accessed, either to read the meter or turn off the water in an emergency. They are round…
Do I need to settle my water bill dispute their multiple errors?
Hi, So I’ve had a very loooong drawn out bad experience with Southern water. The last person I spoke to though was amazing and I finally understand what has happened. We have ended up in £400+ debt to Southern water and this is why.. In August 2019 THEY reduced our water bill from £36.80 to £12.70. (They have admitted now…
Thames Water bills - or lack of
I moved into a new build in 2014, contacted Thames Water to let them know and then - nothing. I assumed my partner was sorting out the water bills (we share responsibility for them), she thought I was and basically for almost eight years we've had no water bill sent through. Now I'm not suggesting we don't pay but I am…
Overcharged - Unsure of Grounds???
Hi all, My water company is Severn Trent and for past 40 years my property, originally Mum and Dads has been charged water rates 'unmetered' at a cost of £651 in 2020. I/we were always of the opinion of better the devil you know where this was concerned as with a fixed bill there's no nasty surprises. However 14 months ago…
Severn Trent 9.5% increase!
Just had our new bill for our unmetered water supply and waste. Up 9.5% on last year. No wonder inflation on the climb!
Shared water supply - lead pipe replacement
We are currently on a shared water main with 3 other houses (2 lots of semi detached). 1930’s build, old lead pipes. One neighbour on the shared supply has had a couple of leaks in the last 3 or 4 years, in their overgrown garden and it’s taken over a week to locate their leak and get it fixed. In the meantime, we all…
Unmetered bill going up 10.36%
I received notification about my new bill for Apr 2022 - Ma r2023, and it is going up from £32.77 per month to £36.16 per month. We are a 4 member household, 2 adults and 2 children age group (3-7 years). No dishwasher in the house. Is it worth getting a water meter?
