Anyone else do this?
Hi Grandparents, Uncles, Aunties and friends are again going to spoil our little girl this year at Christmas (she is 3), to the extent that she will receive a mountain of presents. So the question is, does anyone else wait to see what relatives and friends buy your little ones and then tailor your own gifts that you buy…

Hamper Filler - Muld wine
This year I'm dipping into hampers for the family rather than individual little presents that will probably never get used. One idea is muld wine. christmas dinner dilema
We have no children yet and since moving out, we've tried to stay at home for christmas dinner (much to my dads dismay because he lives alone and like to have his 2 daughters over for christmas dinner) Since moving out I've really realised how disgusting the whole episode is - it wouldn't be far misplaced for a future…

Too much spent on children at Christmas
OK maybe I'm old fashioned but DH and I felt nauseous to see that our nephews and nieces (all younger than 5) had well over £250 EACH worth of presents last year and the year before last. The 'family rules' dictate that each member of the family should spend £15 on presents and these presents must be from a list that each…

Halloween Thankyou's
I've made thankyou cards with the children I care for. 1/4 sheet of card folded with halloween sprinkles on the front. Inside we've put a ghost and written thankyoooooooooooh! in white pen. I thought is would be a nice thing to give people generously handing out the goodies next Tuesday.

What to give to Halloween kids?
We have neighbours kids who come knocking and if left to my husband, he would just ignore them. But I was wondering what sort of things do you give to these kids? In the past I have given some money (20p or 50p) but I feel that maybe I should give them something else? There are about 4-5 kids who call around. Any ideas?

Steaming the Christmas Pudding
I have resorted to the microwave the last few years for my Christmas pudding and I must admit that it isn't as nice as when I used to have the nice steamed ones my Dad made. I am put off steaming by the fact that the last time I tried it the pudding got all wet and soggy.. however I was just wondering if I could steam the…
