with £280k to invest what would be a sensible strategy?
Hello, my wife and `I decided to sell one of our two buy to lets rentals, reason being it was costing us too much money to maintain, so we are now looking for an alternative, one of which could be investing the capital into our existing multi-fund portfolios both of which are in an ISA tax wrapper. The portfolios mirror…

Im getting a little worried about Zopa Peer to Peer lending.
They have been sending out emails for ages trying to reassure investors, saying that new investments arent being taken but that matching money to investments (already in the system) is taking a lot longer. Explanation being that they are being more careful of loan acceptance during COVID. But it seems that the number of…

FSCS - How much of *everyone's* cash can they insure
In the event of an economic meltdown, can the FSCS really cover all of the people it says it can? I heard someone say that in reality it can't even cover 1%. I assume that the Treasury would then step in and have money printed to cover the shortfall?

Withdrawing money from Aviva with profits S1.
I am looking to withdraw some money from my Aviva Portfolio Bond. No joy with the helpline, as no advice, other than to see an FA, will be given. Heres hoping that someone who is in the know on these things can help. I put 10k in the bond in November 2001 and it is now valued at £23,680 including a final bonus of £6260. I…

A good SIPP administrator to use with Interactive Brokers UK
Anyone know of a good SIPP administrator that you can use with Interactive Brokers UK - and be classed as a professional investor. My current SIPP provider does not allow me to trade certain US stocks in my SIPP because they don't allow professional investors. Thanks.

It's currently in his Halifax account doing nothing and will stop in September. The account is his name but we are trustees as it was set up years ago. Where is best place to…

Maximising savings 'allowances'
Guys, I'm pondering how to make the most of my yearly 'allowances', cgt and dividends are fairly obvious, however, savings is something I want to explore. I'm not working, so I believe that puts me into that category. I don't understand how dividends interact with it though. For example, if I get 3k in dividends I assume…

I work in a a company that allowed me to purchase options, they are worth 215k, I'd spend around 32k... Plus, I have 65k worth of shares. If I sell all this year, how…

A little theory ...
We all know, or think we know, or I think we all think we know that over the long term equities always offer the best asset class returns, and for the past hundred or hundreds of years have - again over the long term - beaten inflation. Is there any simple guide or explanation as to why equity values and returns…

1 yr Fixed Rate Saving Account - ZOPA
I've just seen this account offered on the Savings Champion website & looked at the ZOPA website - which looks fine! That said, I've never heard of this institution before but do have a vague recollection of a Peer to Peer lending site/org with a similar (same?) name that was launched years ago. So my questions are: 1) Is…
