Sterling brexit?
I have some cash in NS&I which is not needed short term. To hedge/protect against the pound weakening after Brexit which may be the better option to move the cash into: 1. Vanguard global tracker 2. USD cash 3. Gold EFT 4. Other? With option 1 I already have this so would be increasing my equities allocation. I am OK to…

Not even sure if the 5-11% is total return or annual return; they can't even make that clear. One assumes annual, but ...

19 year old / Savings / Help to buy ISA.
My (lucky...) 19 year old daughter currently has 29k in a normal instant access savings account. She is just about to start her 1st proper job & should be earning around 20k per year. (?? should be around £1400ish take home per month). She still stays at home (with her mother and I) and has no debts. She's not exactly a…

Gifting savings for children
I am looking for a type of savings account for children. I am wanting to open a few different ones for my nephews where I can gift them money into their savings every birthday or Christmas instead of a present. As I have a few nephews I would say that each time I add to the account(s) I’ll only be adding about £30 at a…

W-8 ben-e
When do you need this? If I invest in a S&P 500 tracker listed in GBP on the LSE (eg. CSP1)? If I invest in Facebook shares via IWeb Trading Account (unwrapped)? What about either if wrapped in a ISA or SIPP? If you haven't filed one previously and have had USA tax withheld, can you claim this back in anyway or is this…

In March 2018 I invested a very small amount in a Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) and received a certificate from the organisation. I've realised that I can claim tax relief on this investment and have the correct form. On this claim form there is a box to insert the name of my tax office, however I can't find out…

Woodford Equity Income - I really don't get today's drop?
I really don't get why Woodford's Equity Income Accum. has dropped 0.5% today. UK stock markets have been positive for the last few days, and the top 10 holdings (45% of the fund) are significantly up today. The GBP is flat-ish, so that's not the reason. What am I missing?

Nationwide Regular Saver (5%)
Hey guys, I opened one of these on 5th January this year. I also opened a similar product with First Direct. The first direct one clearly sets out in its t&c's that the maximum balance over the 12 month term is £3,600 (£300 per calendar month). The nationwide one I have makes no such mention in any of the small print (the…

KRBS increases daily FP limit to £250K
KRBS have increased their daily Faster Payments limit to £250K (from £20K). Not that I would ever have over the FSCS limit with them but it's very useful to know they have this generous limit. Hopefully they are setting a trend, at least for payments into people's own accounts.…
