We have been contacted by the above with a view of investing in renewables i.e. wind farms. The interest rate they are quoting is very competitive. Has anyone heard of them or had dealings with them? Thanks Stuart Kemp

S&S ISA help
Hi I have a S&S ISA with Interactive Investor that I started approx. 4-4.5 years ago. I currently have £82k in it, which is invested in 15 FTSE 100 blue chip stocks and I've elected to reinvest the dividends. I check it every day but don't trade every day - I typically only trade maybe once or twice per month, if the share…

Stock ISAs - Tax free confusion
Sorry if I've missed the point here but when MSE describes Stocks and Shares ISAs there's a suggestion that: 2: 'They're tax-efficient, but not always tax-free' I'm confused as HMRC states on it's website Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs) 2: How ISAs work - 'With a stocks and shares ISA or an innovative finance ISA, you…

CTFs, am I doing it wrong?
Hi guys, It's a tiny investment I know, but it's important to us. We have three children -8,5&1 The 8 and the 5 got CTF vouchers when born, so we opened CTFs which seemed best to us at the time: F&C investments Stakeholder FTSE All Share Trackers. To be honest, I don't fully understand how these work, but we put in £10 per…

Is this possible re shares and transfer
Evening all. I know I don't post much, but am looking for some advice or, at the very least a yes or no answer to my first question. Bit of a story, have been self employed for most of my life but got credit crunched in 2009 and since then been working for a FTSE 100 company. I have numerous share save schemes running with…

Is there an ETF alternative for Vanguard Global Small Cap?
I've decided to switch my fund based index tracking portfolio into a more compact collection of ETF index trackers as much as possible. The motivation is that coupled with actively rebalanced IT income holdings it will reduce platform fees, longer term and any potential exit charges. Rather than several individual region…

Why not invest in US stocks?
Lots of literature about investment returns and "sustainable withdrawal rates" is based on US market data often using the S&P 500 or US value or small caps. UK investors are advised to expect lower returns fron UK indexes. All based on historical performance of course and who knows what returns will be in future. But…

How did you 'mentally' start saving?
I know how much I'd like to save, but putting it into practice is another matter entirely  It's not 'needs' that the money gets spent on instead, it's frivolous spending. Clothes for the children because they're too cute to resist, a food shop top-up that we could have gone without, and so on. I'm sure not the only…

Advice On Investing a Small Windfall

Partial transfer this years Cash ISA to S&S ISA
Hi all, A few months ago i used my full ISA allowance into a cash ISA, being part of a Help-to-Buy ISA and Cash ISA split. Paragon reducing interest rate
Just had an email from Paragon informing us that they will be reducing the interest rate on their 120 Day Notice Account from 1.96% to 1.55% on January 1st 2017. Not unexpected and could have been worse I suppose - 1.55% seems competitive for such a notice account.
