What should I do. I have Co-op bank shares, they have delisted
I bought co-op shares a couple of years ago and have no idea what I should do with them now. They have delisted cpbb.l from the sick exchange so I assume I can't sell them, and a few calls to the bank have produced no help. I don't know much about investing and would love your advice. Thanks

Transfer into Stocks and Shares ISA
I have £15,000 (a 3 year fixed term cash ISA) maturing in a cash ISA in June. Can this amount be transferred into an existing Stocks and Shares ISA. Both are held with the same provider. The full ISA limit will be invested in the Stocks and Shares ISA for this tax year in equal monthly payments.

What's the best approach to Dividend investing?
Hi all. I'll cease getting a pay check soon and my investment objective is all about income generation. Rightly or wrongly I have settled on investing in solid dividend yielding companies as the preferred option - in the current market. So, I'd like thoughts on how to best approach a strategy of investing in dividend…

Dividends and accumulation units.....
As a newcomer to S and S investing (apart from having held a few individual shares for many years.....) I'm trying to get my head round something. I understand accumulation units, in that income gets reinvested in the fund and therefore the price of the units increases. If this is the case, what is the significance of an…

Best idea for redundancy cash...
Hi all, My first post in this part of the forum, I've not had money to play with before! I was made redundant last month and today received my redundancy package and am unsure what the best plan is for it. Luckily I got a job straight away so don't require it for general living expenses. I received around £13k and intend…

20K where to invest - self employed
Hi, I've recently been given £20K gift and want to know how best to use. We have 8 yrs remaining on an fixed rate interest only (endowment) mortgage. Unfortunately our endowment has a massive 50% shortfall, so we've been paying off the maximum 10% on the interest every year. If I pay off the £20K on our mortgage, we will…

Financial Advisor's for low investment?
Hi, Recently I've spoken to a couple of financial advisor's from unbaised and one the missus folks use. They have highlighted a couple of key areas, (lack of will, lack of life insurance cover). They've said with my situation, I'm best looking at S&S ISA's which I kind of guessed anyway. Looking around this seems to be…

Income for the elderly
I have a dear neighbour friend who is 82. He needs to invest for income and has some bonds maturing - I think about £25k which has been in Gilts for many years. I am trying to encourage him to have a Santander 123 account (he is a non taxpayer) and put £20k in there, but older people often find it very difficult to make…

Hong Kong ETF? HSX or other.
Are there any HK-specific ETFs that look worthwhile using? Leveraged or not, but holdable in a SIPP or ISA as outside that I can use spread betting for HSX. Not really finding what I'm looking for so I'm wondering what I'm missing. One option is H shares via the Amundi MSCI China EUR (GBP) ETF (CC1.LSE) or db x-trackers…

It shouldn't happen but...
the loop holes are always obvious only after each new scandal wakes up the regulators. So I was concerned when I read that the most compensation that would be paid out if a company running a UK domiciled investment product fails is £50,000 for all investments you hold with that company. If the company is in Ireland (most…

Inherited penny shares
Hi, My father passed away a couple of years ago and recently my mum discovered a folder containing share certificates for shares bought in 2003-2006 in various companies. As far as she remembers, she's not received any communication from anybody in the last 2 years about these. After some digging on my part it turns out…

Shareholder Perks
I'm think of putting some money into a S&S ISA, mainly for shareholder perks. I lose money every time I dabble in the stock market, so it's not for investment purposes. The money sections do a round up of shareholder perks once in a while, but I haven't seen one for a while. I think the leisure industries is going to get a…
