Transferring a CTF to a S&S JISA - best options?
I've decided to transfer my daughter's CTF to a S&S JISA (it has just under 10 years to run). I shan't be making any more contributions to it as I only have £10 a month available to contribute, which I suspect is too low a figure. (I will put the £10 in a Halifax 6% regular saver for her instead). There isn't much in her…

Want to invest in Iran?
Having been all over the news recently with the potential lifting of sanctions, it seems soon we will all be able to easily invest in the Iranian stock market. http://uk.reuters.com/article/2015/04/07/iran-charlemagne-cap-funds-idUKL6N0X41XN20150407 I don't know anyone that has ever been there but I can only imagine it is…

Its becoming evident from aged 16 he wont have the capacity to manage money. With that in mind, he may be entitled to state benefits beyond aged 16, of which some may be…

Going to inherit £6,700 this sunday. What to do with it?
Hi everyone, On Sunday I turn 25, & will inherit £6,700 from my Grandma. The money has been in trust since her death in 2010. This is money that I absolutely must look after, as I would like to use it for something meaningful, like part of a deposit for a home one day. I don't want to just put it into a savings account, as…

Fund Dividend
Hoping someone can help, I've started investing in Funds, and am slightly confused by how the dividend structure is set up. I used to get paid by my employer (FTSE 100 Firm) in company shares, so thought I knew a little.... Would I be correct in saying that capital growth in constituent holdings is represented in the…

Looking to invest but where to start?
I've always saved my money in 'normal' savings accounts and ISA's but with the interest rates being so rubbish these days Id like to try investing my money to hopefully get a better return (which comes with a bigger risk of course) Where do total novices actually begin though? Is it a S&S ISA I need? If so what one? Do I…

Again, time to think about investments.
We are a couple with a combined income of £22 to £23 thousand a year pension income. With no debt that is fine to live on in a decent way. Going to have about £190k to invest. Not having kids, there is no burning issue to leave a huge chunk to them, however we don`t want to burn through the capital. Will be keeping perhaps…

Saving/Investing Advice for Uni
Hi there, I'm about to go to University in September and I've recently noticed I've put in around £15,000 in savings since I was born. As I don't need to touch this money just yet, I would ideally like this to grow during university so that I can start with a very reasonable amount upon graduation (which would be a four…

Personal Savings Allowance - is it going to happen?
The Chancellor announced in his March budget plans to allow the first £1,000 of interest earned (£500 for higher rate payers) on savings accounts to be free of income tax. Savings accounts would also pay interest gross instead of deducting 20% tax. This was due to start in April 2016. I understand, however, that this was…

Buy a new ISA now or wait?
Hi All I've read Martin's ISA Best Buy list for 15/16 and see that the best option for me is the Coventry fixed ISA at 2.25%. I'm wondering whether, if I wait a few weeks/months, something better will come along? What do people think about this? M

Financial and tax advice for wealthy clients. Positive for society?
Hi, I'm considering taking a position as a junior adviser with Openwork (a multi tied financial advisers) Some of the work would be advising wealthy clients (top 10% I believe but not often the top 1%) on insurance/mortgages/pensions and I believe this would be beneficial for society/the economy by providing an efficient…

Long term plan for 100k?

Ideally I…

Transfer my ISA into a current account?
So another tax year comes and even worse ISA interest rates! I'm considering transferring all of my ISA fund around 30k into 123 current accounts paying 3% (2.4% after tax). On 30k that is an extra £270 a year based on the 1.5% ISA I can get with Santander. Is there any reason why I shouldn't do this? Thanks
