Funding for Lending ...
I heard mention on the Today Show of today's date on R4 that they thought it looked positive from GOVERNMENT sources that Funding for Lending would be continued after the 2014 cut-off period. CAN THESE PEOPLE BE SERIOUS? Do you think the Bank of England would allow this? Would they? What are the indications that it is…

agribank
I heard this new bank mentioned on Radio 5 Live this morning. It makes loans only to farmers but anyone can deposit. Bonds for 3/4/5 years pay 3.35%/ 3.5%/ 3.6% resp. HOWEVER it is not covered by FSCS and operates on a banking licence from Malta. "its savings products are not covered by a deposit compensation scheme". I…

Profitable Sunrise?
Anyone ever heard of this website, based in America? https://www.profitablesunrise.com/ A colleague has invested and is receiving interest but I am sceptical. Looks like an intermediary site matching investors with those taking a loan. Allegedly zero risk and around 2% interest PER DAY! This is not a recommendation!

Closing French Bank Account - SRD?
As per thread title, I'm attempting to close my French bank account after selling my house over there. I'm a little stomped over what exactly SRD (as showing in my account) is! It appears to be showing a credit in my favour (fingers crossed!) but also jumped by E300 overnight (E600ish to E900ish). Any ideas peeps?

confused over interest rate wording on net
I opened a Halifax Everyday Saver Account today and paid in approx £ 150.00 . I was told in the branch that the interest rate is currently 2%. However, on the website, it says the "Headline interest rate" is 1.5%. I thought the "Headline interest rate was the highest interest rate so I don't understand this. It does say…

Time to lower my monthly investments?
I like to think of myself as a contrarian investor, increasing my risk when things look gloomy and decreasing my risk when things appear too rosy. During the doldrums in 2009, I increased my pension contributions as well as my investments outside the pension wrapper. This has paid off well. Last year, my investments…

Top regular savings rates
Hi, I was just looking at the 'top regular savings open to all rates' which shows Norwich and Peterborough at 4% including 1.5% bonus and Barclays at 3.25%. I want to make sure that I've calculated the actual returns on these accounts correctly. I've worked this through on the basis that the maximum £250 is paid in each…
