Interest Rates
I was reading an investment magazine sent to me from HG and there is an article about interest rates in it that makes very depressing reading. Says that experts are predicting that base rate will fall to 0.25% by next year and then a very gradual increase back to 1% by 2019/2020:eek: This is so awful, it has already been…

Funding Circle - how accurate are their credit ratings?
I've downloaded the statistics/loan book from Funding Circle and have found somewhat of an anomaly... It looks like the C rated loans (i.e. most risky class) have a far lower default rate then the B rated loans. This is somewhat counter-intuitive and leads to me conclude that the credit analysts at Funding Circle aren't…

Inflation linked savings bonds - do they exist?

Messed about over my ISA - should my building society Mae up for it?
I tried to open an ISA with Cheshire Build Society but there was a mix up with the ID I sent them. I got a letter saying they couldn't open the account and if they didn't hear from me within five days, no further action would be taken. I felt I had been messed about by them, so I didn't contact them again and opened an ISA…

selling shares via X-O
Trying to sell some shares via the X-O site. It asks me to enter the 'limit price in pence'. The only assistance on the site says you have to enter a "Limit good for today" or "limit through" - nothing about price in pence. If I just want to sell at todays (or Monday's) price, what do I enter?

Happy Friday night! My DH got an email yesterday to say that he's been awarded a bonus by way of some shares in the company (mainly because he whinged at them and staff keep leaving). So today I took my Sons save4it book into Halifax to pay in a cheque off his grandparents. We never deposit into this normally so rarely 'update' his book as I'm wheelchair bound so it's a pain to get to branch, instead we usually bank transfer. Low cost tracker funds for both Gilts and Corp Bonds?
Hi all, I've had no problem finding low cost trackers for Corporate Bonds, and no problem finding ones for UK Gilts. But can't seem to find any which cover both. Any ideas? I'm keeping an eye on the Bond market and may start investing this year if interest rates start to move, and prices drop. But I'm on Hargreaves…

Is peer-peer lending worth investing in
One new peer-peer lender is offering lenders 12% annual return on their money, their site is still in beta... But the deal looks too good to be true. The company manages all the loans...you just provide the cash, they promise to get it repaid on time plus the interest. Can it work? Is it a con? And that rate is better than…
