Compounded interest and AER
Can someone please explain as I'm not sure how it works - if you put a some of money into a savings account paying say a rate of 4% (gross) per year over 5 years, and have the annual interest paid into the same savings account thereby earning compounded interest, would the AER over the 5 year period be higher than the 4%?

Any MSE users on Twitter? What's your handle?
I'm about to sign up for Twitter, just wondering if any of the users on these boards are on there too? Noticed a few people to follow from the financial sector, but would be cool to have some like-minded people on there. So if you use it, what's your handle?

6% interest
I have inherited a private mortgage with an outstanding balance of about £240K (as the mortgagee) and would like to sell it on as I'd like the money now to buy a bigger house rather than receive it in monthly installments for the next 14 years. Does anybody know how I could do this? (the mortgage contract is assignable)…

Bitcoins
Hi, I like the idea and thought of buying 500-1k coins (mostly for excitement). With prices as low as they are now and use picking up (in the US at least) plus all media attention – what is your opinion? AA Internet Savings Acc - question from a dummy
I opened an AA Internet Savings (Issue 2 Stage 2) Account back in March 2010, and it gives me 2.8% interest including 12 month bonus of 2.3%. I got the interest in March after 12 months, and I'm happy with it, so I left my money there. Will I get another 2.8% in March 2012? Or do I just get the 0.5% without the bonus?:(…

Can anyone see what moves the market?
Can anyone see the news info that moves the markets in real time? Or do professional traders and fund managers see market moving news before the rest of us? Offered 4% to combine Savings+Current A/C??
Hi, A friend has told me that a few months ago his bank manager at Lloyds (I assume TSB?) offered him 4% on his savings if he merged his savings account with his current account. I asked if he meant to Vantage account that limits the interest it pays at £7500 (i think?) but he seemed rather sure it was a 'special' deal…
