Is there a website where I can compare trackers and their associated fees? If not, who are generally the cheapest for all type ETF FTSE trackers? 2. Will probably drip feed…

Inheritance
Hi guys, My first post, am looking for some advice Firstly, a bit of background (so i don't seem an utter mercenary) We're expecting a baby (our first!) in the Summer and have recently discovered a damp problem in the (soon to be) baby's room. The root of this problem is the fact that our windows are completely rotten.…

Lloyds TSB Vantage/Halifax Reward Current Accounts
I have a couple of what I hope are easy questions for the collective experience at MSE: (i) what is the default schedule for receiving paper statements on the Lloyds TSB Vantage Current Account? My accounts have been open more than 2 months and I'm yet to get a statement. (ii) with Halifax, does anyone have any experience…

NS&I ILC Reinvestment
Sorry for another thread on the NS&I theme. Although it was touched on in one of the many similar threads I can't find it. As I understand it: - a maturing ILC can be reinvested in the latest issue available at maturity. - the matured amount does not count towards your £15k limit for an issue My question is, is the money…

Fresh start with Savings
Hello everyone, Despite still being a 'newbie' on this board and only posting a handful of times, I'm thrilled to say that I will soon be debt free, hopefully within the next month. I've worked hard to reach this stage but have also been blessed with a sizeable (to me anyway!) inheritance. Most of this I plan to use to pay…

Where do I put my money now?
Interest rates are so poor lately and many of the top paying accounts require current accounts with them, which being a student I can't get *cough* Barcylays *cough* or can only operate via post/phone which is more like 1910 than 2010. This is the current (messy) state of my accounts which have been left to stagnate over…

Child Trust Fund - savings or bond?
Hello apologies for sounding total numpty. I am opening an account for my daugter with the £250 government give you but I am not intending to add to it. Reason being child has control over account once they turn 18 so would rather do my own savings and dictate what they spend it on! Is a bond better if you intend to add to…

Can you split your investment into more than 1 certificate. So if I have £8,000 to invest can I buy 8 x £1,000 certificates? So if I do unexpectedly need a few hundred during the first year, I can cash in 1 certificate and lose the potential interest on £1,000 but leave the other 7 still earning. Or are you only allowed 1…
