Best options for small regular long-term saving
Hi all I have a new nephew and would like to put away say £10/month for the next 20 years or so that I can give to him as a gift when he's older. I don't need access to the cash in the meantime, and want to keep this to one side of my personal savings. Not sure where to start with this - any pointers appreciated. Thanks

Best savings account?
I am looking for a savings account. I have around £2000 that I can start it off with, and I will also be able to make monthly deposits (say £150 but probably more than that). I was looking at the Tesco savings account which has a good level of interest, but reading people's experiences on here it seems like it's a real…

Hargreaves Lansdown
I would appreciate any comments on Hargreaves Lansdown and their Vantage product for Equity base ISA's. I spoke to them on the phone this morning and they were quoting no entry fees or annual fees (on the majority of their products). Seems to good to be true. Is there a catch that I am missing. Thanks Robert

Since 1935, the dollar has lost 93.5% of its purchasing power
According to the Minneapolis Federal Reserve, since 1935, the dollar has lost 93.5% of its purchasing power. But take a look at how well gold has held up: In 1935, when an ounce of gold was worth $35, you could buy:* a top-quality tailored suit for $19.75 – or 0.56 ounces of gold * a family car for $500 – or 14.3 ounces of…

Why Are Silver Sales Soaring?
The U.S. Mint just reported another record, but this time it wasn’t for gold. The Mint sold more Silver Eagles in March and in the first quarter of the year than ever before. A total of 9,023,500 American Silver Eagles were purchased in Q110, the highest amount since the coin debuted in 1986. While this is certainly…

Password Tools - Invalidate Banks T's and C's
I notice with the new Barclays T's and C's you invalidate your fraud protection if you use one of those aggregation tools - I assume they mean something like Lovemoney.com. I wonder if there is a risk they will extend this to include tools that manage passwords and offer an online storage facility for them - even if you…
