How you can you make any money with Sharebuilder Accounts??????
I've been looking at the Sharebuilder accounts that various vendors offer. The Halifax one for example - £1.50 per trade + 0.5% stamp duty. It reckons you can invest say £25 a month on shares. I'm new to investments/savings so my question may be naive, but please bear with me! Debt Free Wannabes all advised just to use the lump sum to pay off debt…

I'm interested in opening a Skipton Online Access account (to spread some money around a bit), but I can't work out whether transactions by BACS are chargeable or free. I'm used to dealing with ING where there are no charges, but I'm not sure if this is unusual or not. Please could anyone advise?

How safe are Fund Supermarket?
Without wishing to add to the general air of panic and belief that every institution is about to go bust, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what safe-guards are in place for funds placed with "fund supermarkets"? Someone mentioned for example that if Hargreaves Lansdown failed then compensation is limited to £48K. I…
