Cofunds
My MIL has a very small holding in Cofunds. She is not quite sure what it is i.e. shares or pep holding. I have had a look at it and it says that the product is PEP, ISA & Investment funds. She is a pensioner and she was advised to take this out last year by a FA. It is a very small holding of £3645.78. She has had a…

Lloyds Fixed Rate 6.5% Cash ISA withdrawal penalties
I need clarification on withdrawal penalties if I leave my transferred ISA money (more than £9000) in the Lloyds Fixed Rate 6.5% Cash ISA after the fixed rate period ends. The leaflet is ambiguous & the Lloyds staff at my local Bank "think" but don't seem sure of the facts. I was told, but can find nothing concrete in the…

Getting paid interest on ISA's
Hi guys, Opened up an ISA today with Barclays and put the full £3000 in. My question is, will I earn a full years interest on this £3000 or just a few days worth due to the tax year ending shortly? I did ask the girl in Barclays but don't think she quite knew what she was talking about. Cheers! Darrone

Will A&L Reduce its 6.5% Savings Rate?
Chaps & Ladies I sold up 6 months ago (phew !) and have £275K of equity in a fixed high interest account until Oct 08 - 6.35%. In the interest of reducing risk, I am looking for other accounts to put an amount in The 6.5% A&L account seems OK, but whats the chance that this rate will be significantly reduced if rates falls…

Kaupthing & icesave banks
Can anyone tell me if Kaupthing & Icesave are of the same Banking Institution. I am interested to know because the FSCS would only garantee the first £35000 of savings, even if £35000 were invested in both banks ie a total of £70000 for one customer.

Abbey ISA
A few years ago I opened up a postal ISA with Abbey. At the time the interest was great and they kept it very competitive for quite a while. When I checked recently the interest was quite poor in comparison to other market leaders. I rang them up and told them I was going to move it. They offered to change it to a Direct…

Feeder accounts - any suggestions?
Hi, I've heard Martin talk about having little accounts set up for things like Xmas, holidays, emergencies, food etc, we are not in a position to save lots of money but it makes sense to start saving now for Xmas and to try for a holiday. Even 10 quid a month is better than nothing! My question really is - does anyone know…

Credit Ref Agencies-out of control ?
When I tried to apply online for an Isa account I was amazed to find that Experian had been unable to verify my identity to the broker, and my application was declined. On checking with Experian I found that they had not updated my file since I moved home six months ago, even though my bank assures me that all adress…

Just looking at funds and wanting assistance: http://www.iii.co.uk/factsheets/?type=detail&mex=FRCAPA This fund has a +151.09% over 5 years. Now am I right in saying that this means it has an 'IR' of 8.6% yearly? (I did: 1.5109 ^ 1/5). And second question is: looking at the fund graphs a lot of them (90%) are starting to…

After all of the helpful advice from this website I have recently, last week, took the plunge and invested the full £3000 limit into a mini ISA with Egg but I wondered if someone could just clear up something for me. Staying with Egg, when the new tax year starts (April 8th?) can I invest my limit (£3600) into the same…

So this morning nr announces the repayment of the £24BN gov. loan by 2010 and says goodbye to applegarth with a £760k pay-off. it also declares that its business plan is to be 'competitive' within the market and will no longer seek to be 'market leader'. in an 'about face', it will look to source funding from individual…
