A&L Direct Saver
Having grown tired of the poor rate offered by first directs e-saver I decided to apply for an Alliance & Leceister direct saver. I have received an e-mail for A&L stating that after consideration and with regret they are unable to open the account. Can anybody suggest any reasons why they would refuse to open an account?

Just read in the Observer money section, letters, that if you don't use your icici account for a year, they freeze your account and don't inform you! So after that time, you go to use your account and you can't. Apparantly they are going to change their policy though. It's in the Margaret Dibben letters page.
