I posted a while ago about whether to get another dog or not. Well I accidently got one:rotfl: He belonged to some friends of my husband who, after 4 months realised that a 10 minute walk round the block knew he was ours:D He is a cocker spaniel x poodle (a crossbreed NOT a cockapoo;)) and we are totally in love so thanks…

I had to leave my new pup this morning, only for an hour but he knew i was going out and was following me around and crying. I stupidly looked through the window when i had left and saw him just sitting looking at the door. Next wednesday hes going to be left on his own for 4 hours and im already worrying about it! :(

Cat has a sore on his neck
Mentioned it in the thread about his neutering but feel it should have its own as I am a tad worried - apologies if this isn't allowed. My cat was neutered yesterday and it seemed to go fine, he is eating, drinking and acting as normal. My boyfriend noticed today though that he has a sore on his neck, just above his…

Pit bull terriers
I understand these are illegal in the UK but can be lawfully owned with a license. Before I go any further, I don't want one of these dogs just interested in all dogs and watching a programme at the moment which features pit bulls. Why is it that they are banned ? Surely they aren't any more dangerous than say a…

Just had a baby and cat has started spraying
Hi everyone, as the title says my cat has started to spray our house, he has never done this before, and I think it could be a reaction to our two week old baby girl. He has been neutered and has never sprayed at all, even before. We're trying to give him lots of attention but with a newborn it is difficult and I think he…

Did you pick your dog
Or did your dog pick you. Currently I am seriously thinking about getting another dog. I had looked around a couple of shelters when I lived in Manchester and when I saw Gonzo he came running over wanting to play and ended up sitting on my head:rotfl: (he was only 5 months then) and I knew he was the one. I now live in…

Cat2 is constipated
As per the title. She is not happy and will be even less happy when I put her into the cat carrier for a trip to the vets tomorrow. So hopefully, learning from previous posters she is now fasting (though doesn't yet know it) but does have access to drinking water that there will be fewer accidents tomorrow, though I won't…

Rehoming a rescue dog - thoughts please?
In the summer, it is our plan to re-home a rescue dog - we already have a pair of cats (indoor) and chickens and a lovely big garden as well as a park around the corner. I used to have a Doberman female and she was well loved but was PTS 18yrs ago, so a little while ago since my doggy days. I've had a tentative look at the…

Dog Groomers
Can anyone recommend a dog groomer in the York area? I have a lurcher who is a bit of a tangled mess, I think it is the bearded collie in him, and have never needed a groomer before. Also, what is "hand stripping". I have seen on one website that this can be painful for the dog. Thanks.
