A different 'taking a lump sum from a DB pension' question
Hello all, there have been many posts on the topic of DB pensions and whether it was worthwhile considering taking a lump sum and then a reduced pension, but mine is slightly different as I wondered what the thoughts were when the missing pension would not have received any inflationary increases due to the pension being…

Elderly mum not getting full basic state pension-what am I missing??
My mum has 31 years of full NI contributions up until she retired in 1986-1987 at 60. She is currently paid just over £ 125 a week but I believe the maximum state pension amount is £ 134.25. I am curious as to why she is not being paid the maximum amount. HMRC's own website states "To get the full basic State Pension you…

P55 for tax year 2019-2020
Hello, HMRC have taxed me on a drawdown of £11850 I took from my pension pot in tax year 2019-2020 (it was my only income during that year). I've gone online to complete form P55 to claim a tax refund but it only allows a claim for the current tax year. Does anyone know how to submit an online claim for a previous tax year?

Transfer and consolidation of defined contribution funds
I've built a fair amount in AVCs, but my employers DC schemes only offer a miserable annuity. So I want to transfer out to get a drawdown. I've spoken with an IFA and am told that due to recent changes in legislation I must use a PTS to do this, and the lowest estimate available is over £12k. Which sounds like a lot of…

As highlighted by others on here it is not easy to speak to a human being about pensions, they are great at sending you what you can read online but hopefully someone here might have been in a similar position to me and can help. PCLS and Lifetime Allowance
Does only the 25% PCLS count towards the LTA or it is ruled that you have crystallised the other 75% as well. So if you take £26,827 as PCLS (2.5% of £1.0731M) does that count as 2.5% of LTA or 10% of LTA.
