Do Investment bonds count as income for pensions?
Does anyone know if the proceeds of an offshore investment bond which was surrendered and taxed at the higher rate would be classed as income for pension contribution purposes, so that it could be reinvested to get the tax relief, assuming one had sufficient contribution allowance?

Work pension worth it short term?
Sorry to be that person that asks the really simple questions but I'm clueless with these things. Is it worth paying into an employee pension if you have no intention of staying there for long? I can't see myself being there more then a year and the contributions would be minimal as I'm on a part-time wage, but I guess if…

Just wondering whether my defined benefits are worthwhile?
I've got 3 defined benefit schemes of which I am a deferred member. In current money they would pay out £2.8k, £2k and £3.5k per annum. I've also been investing in a SIPP for several years. I've always stuck with the advice to NOT transfer these defined benefit pensions, but I am rather frustrated as they increase at a…

SIPP withdrawal/drawdown
Is withdrawing money from your SIPP after 55 the same thing as "drawdown"? It seems various platforms charge various fees (HL nothing, Fidelity nothing) for "drawdown" out of your pension plan. Bestinvest quote a fee of £25 for "Ad hoc income payments". So does this mean I would be charged £25 each time I withdraw any…

No pension, no NI
I just found out that my new employer doesn't pay any pension. I also work only 12 hours a week, meaning I don't pay any NI. What is the best option? Pay the voluntary NI of £741 this year?
