Hi, I'm 25 and haven't started contributing to a pension yet. I asked to join my company's pension scheme but was told that I needed to join within the first six months of working for the company. flexible & low-management-fee stakeholder pension?
Hi, i am looking for a stakeholder pension scheme with: - low management fees (I know they are capped at 1.5% p.a. but it would be nicer to find something a bit below 1%... perhaps 0.8%?) - low minimum monthly payment - possibility to change/stop/resume payments at any time - possibility to make one-off payments at any…

Belated pension mis-selling redress
Hi. When I left the RAF in 1990, I transferred my gratuity from the forces scheme to an alternative pension provider. Several years later I received a letter asking if I considered I had been mis-sold the plan. I agreed that I had and was offered redress in 2001. Not knowing whether it was an reasonable offer or not, and…

Suggestions for retirement plan?
My wife and I are both NHS nurses, and have paid into the NHS scheme for 17 years and 13 years respectively. We are aged 41 and 36. Neither of us come from particularly long lived families, with 3 of our 4 parents passing away before 65, which tends to make us feel that we need to plan for retirement at 60 despite the…

Qs re: turning pension into gold then land I’d farm?
I'm 29 and I have a small work pension of around £4,600 after my last job. For years I’ve wished I never taken it out, as with what I know of the implications of climate change; peak oil; financial collapse and ecological collapse, I see there as being a 99.9% chance of it/pensions in general no longer existing should I…
