Mardi Gras
Has anyone done it? I'm thinking of 2014 as it lands in March (ever so slightly warmer) and I understand that hotels get booked up from August! There are a number of good websites, including this and a forum on TA. Have any MSE'rs done this? Any hints / tips from seasoned travellers are welcome.

If I book them now it will leave me really short, as they're 1k at the moment, but I am waiting on a 4k payment which will…

Airline wont refund airport tax
Hi I need to cancel a long haul flight from Canada to the UK but the airline is refusing to refund me my paid airport tax. I bought an 'instant purchase' ticket which means I'm not entitled to a refund according to them, however I am pretty sure they cannot keep the money allocated for tax. They are merely an agent between…

specialist cruise travel insurance
Is it required or not? The things that are covered above and beyond a normal travel policy (change of itinerary, formal clothing damage, cabin confinement) I don't really care for. Would a normal travel policy cover me? I am on holiday after all. (I've been on several cruises with normal travel insurance, I didn't even…
