Can u Freeze Scones?
I was wondering whether it is possible to freeze home made scones, pancakes and cakes? I know it is a silly question because apparently you can freeze the ones you buy in the shop but I thought home made ones would be different. SORRY for asking a silly question but I would appreciate an answer. Thanks

argh! head lice!
My poor baby has headlice (well not anymore, I've got rid of them - poor thing) It just got me thinking, what's fact and what's fiction? Is it true that they only like clean hair, and prefer thick long hair? What's the best way to treat them? I don't really like using chemicals on my ickle two year olds hair. Squidgy

Milton Sterilising fluid
You don't need a baby in the house to use Milton's sterilising fluid! I use it for everything in place of regular anti-bacterial products and it saves a fortune as it's only £1.88 for 1250ml bottle at Tesco and will last me a month a more ... soaking dish cloths, pet dishes, wiping all kitchen/bathroom surfaces etc It's…

How long to keep pulses/dried beans etc?
Had a sort out of my cupboards and came across loads of half empty containers of dried lentils, butter beans, kidney beans, chick-peas, rice, cracked wheat, flour etc, etc. Most of the stuff must be several years old and it led me to wonder just how long this sort of stuff can reasonably and safely be kept? Can anyone…

Ewww my washing machine STINKS :(
I always keep the door ajar (sometimes wide open) but if I don't there's a terrible damp water smell. I've sprayed it with bleach and poured neat bleach inside the rubber rimand then washed through empty but it still smells bad. I use it at least 3 times a week. Any ideas how to get rid of the smell? It might be the water…

Replacing Zips?
In true money-saving style, I bought my 5 year old a 7-8 coat for school (it's not that bad, he's very tall) and my neighbour also gave him a nearly new ski jacket, which must have cost a fortune. The zips in both coats have gone - maybe because they spend so long in the washing machine as mud and boys are strangely…

Unblocking the toilet - any ideas?
My toilet is partially blocked at the moment. I've tried putting a wire coathanger down the basin to clear the problem - it helped a bit but didn't solve the problem entirely. Does anyone have any bright ideas for old-fashioned remedies, or am I better off buying one of those 'Mr Muscle' products advertised on TV? I'm…

The Gift Cupboard!
My dMother taught me to keep a Gift Box. Throughout the year, if she saw something which would be a great gift idea for so-and-so, she would buy it and tuck it way in her Gift Cupboard. Same if she saw something in the sales and also with cards and giftwrap. It was also where, throughout the year, she would tuck away her…
