Confused - crossing a single white line
After a bit of advice on this situation. Basically, this particular road has 3 lanes going north and 1 lane going south. The 3 northbound lanes are separated from the 1 lane by one solid white line. I want to pull out of a hotel car park and go right (northbound, with the 3 lanes). But in order to do so, I have to cross…

Large van for new driver first vehicle?
I’m thinking of belatedly learning to drive next year (I’m 37) and considering getting a secondhand Luton Truck or larger long wheel based Sprinter van or the like as my first vehicle. I have zero interest or plans to ever own a car but a large van could be handy both for transporting work gear and in time to convert the…

Fuel Prices

Just found out my car has not been taxed for the last 18 months!!!
So, Last week I received a letter from the DVLA alerting me to the fact my VW T5 was untaxed! To my utter disbelief (as I always set up Direct Debits when I buy cars so I can forget about them and not worry) I went online to check. Sure enough the tax on my T5 seemed to have expired on 1/5/2018 (18 months ago!) So at this…

First time driving in central london.
In a few days I'm going to have to drive in central london for the first time and I have a few questions. I checked my car registration number and it says it meets the ultra low emissions standard so there's no congestion zone charge, but are there any other charges involved with driving in central london? Also I…

I'm a…

30000 miles an 4 years between services on used car.
We went to look at a VW Polo yesterday for £7k The car was lovely apart from needing new front discs. The problem was when I checked the service history it had gone 4 years and 30k miles between services before servicing resumed last year. I told my sons girlfriend(who the car was for) to walk away. Any thoughts?
