Why use a broker?
We're just considering moving house and wanted to understand what the pro's and con's are of using a broker. Last time around we used L&C and to be fair they made the process seem quite smooth - I'm not sure the deal was the best (fixed for 5 years at 5% interest rate) but I'm not sure anybody could have predicted what…

Flat selling to relative
My wife and I are just about to put our flat on the market for £125k. We owe £64500 on the mortgage. My mother is planning to sell her house in 2 years, downsize and put the excess into a buy to let flat (the profit would go into a pension pot for me). She should get £300k for her house. Would it be feasible for her to get…

Hi, can anyone help me 'decode' this? This is my first EVER, any-type of mortgage application. Basically, I went through the 'mortgage promise application' yesterday, and not knowing whether I would get a yes or a no (but expecting one of those!), instead, I have received the following reply: 'Following your recent online…

A higher deposit it not an…
