Why does my fixed rate tracker monthly interest fluctuate month by month?
Hi, My HSBC mortgage is a capital repayment fixed rate tracker (3.29% above BOE base rate). However, my annual statement shows that the interest applied each month fluctuated up and down throughout the year. For example on month 2 it was £884, month 3 £848, month 4 £902 as a rough example. I thought the interest would…

Lifetime tracker and gift: higher deposit or post-completion lump sum?
I'm applying for a lifetime tracker (Santander). I've been offered a gift from parents towards a deposit. Since it has zero ERCs, and won't cause me to cross an LTV boundary, I can choose whether to put the money actually in the deposit itself, or leave it until just after completion and pay off some of the mortgage as a…

Santander affordability credit card payment double-counting?
This calculator showed for me a dramatic effect of "monthly credit card repayment" on the amount that they think is affordable for me to borrow: http://www.santanderforintermediaries.co.uk/calculators/affordability.aspx For me, the function of my credit card is to pay for things, not to borrow money, except incidentally.…

Banks and historic anomalies - need an interpreter
I am in mortgage arrears with my bank. They would like me to pay off the mortgage by getting a remortgage with another bank.
