Santander and my credit file

I am after some advice.

I have just spent 6 months on the dole, and finally got a job 2 weeks ago. I borrowed money to pay off the arrears on the mortgage, and did this promptly. After checking my credit file I see that I am showing as a 1/5 on Noddle. NOT GREAT. When I look into it it seems that Santander have recorded my as having 4 months of late/non payments.

Going back 6 months I asked Santander what would happen if I made no payment, or made some payment on the mortgage, and was told it would be recorded differently on the credit file. Having now spoken to them, that is not true, a partial payment (which I was making) counts as a late payment or no payment, they do not report it any differently, so it looks like (to the credit agency) I have not made a payment for 4 months on the mortgage.

When I quizzed Santander they have admitted they do not report partial payments as a payment on the credit score. I feel that Santander forced me into making a partial payment I could not afford, to there benefit, not mine, as it has mde no difference on the credit score.

Any advice on what I can or should do?

Thanks

Craig

    You've got either;-

    mortgage arrears

    or

    an arrangement to pay.

Neither is better/worse than the other, so it doesn't matter too much what your credit file says.

You'll have problems getting credit for the next few years.
