Should I Stay or Should I go now?
My mortgage lender (Egg) was excellent, but seems to have gotten a bit lethargic following takeover from Citigroup. A quick check of the website and I found they have withdrawn all of their EGG mortgage products. Following the recent 1.5% rate cut i thought I would wait and see what they decided to do. I now have a letter…

Tax implications of parents paying part of deposit
I suppose my situation is not that rare, but I am struggling to find a reliable answer. Basically, my parents want to help me and my partner buy a house, and are willing to pay for 50% of the deposit. Would there be any tax implications with this (since this would be quite a sizeable gift) if the money went directly to the…

Clearly, most trackers will have fallen by 2% in recent months but that's the rate not the actual reduction. My repayments have gone from £746.65 to £670.69 which is 10.2%. GG

Hi, I phoned Woolwich last month after the 0.5% rate cut and was told that my November mortgage payment would reduced. It hasn't changed. Also I have no communication from them about this cut or the more recent 1.5% cut. Am really frustrated with them. Do they have to cut their rates or are they within their rights not to…

Phew....sigh of relief
Hi all My 2 yr fix ends this Dec and I was bracing myself for a hike in the repayments. I can afford the jump but wouldn't be happy about spending the extra cash (who would).
