crap deals for 90% LTV people
I feel very lucky that i managed to get the HSBC lifetime tracker at + 0.79 above base. (was avail until 2 weeks ago for 90% now only 75% ltv customers) Since the rate cut, customers on 90% LTV (me) are being offered deals like +2.5 above base, putting them on about 7.00% or worse.... Scandalous!!!

Changing to an interest only mortgage
Hi there I have a repayment mortgage with A&L and we are looking to rent it out. They said we could do this if we pay a fee of £95/year. Fair enough. But is it a straight forward request to switch it to an interest only mortgage? If it helps it is on a fixed rate until Januray and then reverts to a tracker + 0.75% after.…

What is 'Bank Base Rate'?
Is this the same as the Bank of England base rate? My BTL fixed rate mortgage comes to end in Jan 2009, and the documents say that once the fixed rate period ends, I will go onto a variable rate, which is 'Bank Base Rate plus 1.75%' If I'm right, then my interest rate would be 4.5 + 1.75 = 6.25% But am I right? or sadly…
