Agreement In Princ - Mortgage Refused?
Evening ladies/gents, A fortnight ago I obtainmed an AIP with Abbey for my future house purchase. I have now had an offer accepted on a place and my application is with the abbey. I'm a little worried as I have had a few credit probs in the past although this was 4 years ago. How often do mortgages get declined after the…

Anyone used Payplans Recommended Mortgage Broker?
Hi I am in an IVA but hoping to get a mortgage and Payplan have referred me to their recommended Mortgage Broker who just called me. Unfortunatley I am at work so could talk to them at the moment. I have re-arranged the call and the earliest they can do it is 1pm next Thurs - this is 5 min call to see if they can help me…

Could a m'gage advisor help please? Rough idea needed!
Hi all, wonder if you could help pls? We have a S/O flat at the moment, valued at at least £150k and we bought a 40% share in July 05 when it cost £127k, meaning we've "made" £9,200 on it (hope to use this as deposit for next place). We're looking to move to a new house, for example one that's on the market at £164,950. If…

Mortgage application and probationary period
Hello, I am just about to lose my job. I am looking for a new one and as soon as I get it, I will apply for a mortgage. What is the general lenders' approach to being in a probationary period and applying for a mortgage? Shall I wait until that is over? Is that not a problem as long as I am in a continuous employment?…

Does anyone have a Plan B....
This is a followup from my "fraud" thread. I am grateful for all those who took the time to reply. Because we could afford it, we were considering "a solution that was less than honest" - the risk would have been on us, but it was financially logical and in the longterm affordable. However the very fact that I am here and…

Breaking out of fixed rates
If you're worried that interest rates are going to go mad, and have a small amount of time left on your fixed rate (10 months), but want to refix for a longer time, is there a way around your current fixed rate? Is it worth paying the redemption fee in order to get a new mortgage now?

Best Fixed rate
Considering a 2 year Fixed when I re-motgage. Looking at Nationwide 5.73% with a £499 aplication fee, think it may include free legal bills. Was considering a few fixed rates that were a slightly better rate, but the application fee was £999 and in some cases even more, which I really could not find this kind of money. Is…

Mortgage offered, but subject to conditions!
History I live in a mortgaged (HSBC) flat since jan 2005. 3 weeks ago i've seen a townhouse at next door with a bargain price tag! Without looking into my financials i've given an offer and it has been accepted. I've put my property in market, i've no plans to sell it as the part of a chain. Current situation Abbey…

Would this constitute fraud????
This is a little complicated.....we have found our dream house, but on "multiples" it is too expensive (>750K), although it is affordable according to my monthly sallary. We are trying to be creative to finance this, but I need to know whether this is bending things too far and constitutes fraud!! And if so, would it be…
