I was telephoned by my bank today and told they were discontinuing with my mortgage and I have to change to another - does anyone know if this is allowed - there were no minimum timescales or tie ins

hi, please help; my brother and i are buying our mothers council house, it will be around £20,000, so £10,000 each. Over 5 years am I better with a loan or a morgage, if a loan? whats the best without costing me money if paying it off early, as i have cash coming from an endowment next Febuary. any ideas.

Switch With Profits Endowment to Fund?
Earlier today I emailed Standard Life to ask whether I could transfer my with profits endowment to one of their investment funds instead of surrendering or selling. I had a quick reply to say "Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the policy you have in this way." Was it a silly question? If not Has anyone managed it?
