Hi,
THIS may have been discussed elsewhere so i apologise... BUT i was wondering...
i'm in the process of claiming my bank charged back from the nationwide as we speak (the words pain and @rse come to mind, but hey ho!) and i was wondering if the same rules applies to mortgage redemption?
Basically i bought a house 3 years ago... i split with mf GF and sold it last year... in this process i decided i'd move back with my folks for a while so i didn't need another mortgage. GMAC then charged me the best part of £6K becuase i left the mortgage early... are they allowed to do this? or is it possible to claim some or all of the money back in the same type of scenario as the bank charges?
Thanks for any help.
Chris

there's no way to claim this back as yet, although this is apparently being challenged. It would have been a clearly illustrated cost in the mortgage offer.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser code of conduct.
