Want to be a mfw but worried?
Hi, I've been reading these threads for a long time now and they have inspired me to want to be a mfw but I have to admit I don't know the best way to go about it. I've looked on the links at the calculator and would love to knock off 10 years off my 26 yr mortgage term. But how to do it and stick with it? I'm worried…

Should I be a MFW - advice needed!
Hello all, I'm a keen subscriber (read lurker;)) to many of the MFW diaries. I'm currently wondering whether I should join in the MF2010 challenge. I've talked to my partner and we're both really keen to pay our mortgage off as soon as possible . However, we also are saving to have work done to convert our loft, so…

Halifax overpayment delay
Hi We make regular monthly overpayments of 650 on our fixed rate (5.99%) mortgage, about 92k remaining. I normally ring Halifax to do this because their online mortgage banking is very poor and won’t allow transfer from our Halifax reward joint account. Also their system is defaulted to trigger a reduction in our regular…

1 mortgage, 2 babies, 3 years to be MF, 4 goodness sake!- weezl's diary
Hi MFWs. :hello: Having recently joined Financial Bliss and Maz on the MFI3 take 2 challenge, I realised I’d like to have a space to talk in more detail about my MFI3 journey, so thought I’d start a diary, rather than clutter up the challenge thread. Is it better to shorten term or payment rate by overpayment??
Dear all, We have around £155000 mortgage (21 years left) with Nationwide, currently on their BMR 2.5% rate. We intend to overpay £10000 this month, but are not sure whether is better to ask Nationwide to shorten our term or to lower the monthly payment rate. We can afford to pay the current monthly rate and will keep…
