O2 Sim only - what happens at end of contract
Can any o2 Simplicity users advise... I've been on o2 simplicity for the past 12 months, paying £10.21 for 300 mins, unlimited texts with a £5.11 bolt on for 500mb data, total £15.32 per month. They also threw in some extra free 02 calls at the time. If I were a new customer that would cost me £16.50 as its now £10.50 for…

£9.95 for unlocked phone with £10 PAYG credit... How do they make money?!
I've just bought a new phone for £4.95... but got £5 cashback via Quidco. Okay, I had to pay for £10 airtime credit, but how can they manufacture a phone, pay for shop/website overheads and provide "£10-worth" of airtime when I've only paid £9.95?! I'm told that the phone is unlocked, so they won't even get an unlocking…

Phone warranty
I was wondering if I could get some general info on warranties for smartphones. Are they usually covered under a manufacturer's warranty or warranty from the service provider? And is it standard for the warranty not to cover the whole term of the contract? Many thanks for your help

4G What a complete waste of effort
I read that 4G is due to be upon us shortly, what a waste of time and effort. Why has anyone bothered to get data whipping along at lightning speeds when the operators have pretty much cut the legs from underneath mobile data access? They are all starting to whip up a frenzy about this great new tech but limit their users…

Suggestions for an entry-level SmartPhone
Hi, Am looking to buy a SmartPhone for my wife for Christmas. We know nothing about them. Not even sure I'm using the right words. I mean a phone where you can download apps, etc. As neither of us have ever had one, we're not really sure what to look out for. Equally not really sure what she's going to use it for, so…

Cancelling a new contract to get a better handset deal.
I signed up at Tesco last week for a T-Mobile contract which included a Samsung Galaxy S2 handset for £50. Somewhat miffed to return to the store last Saturday and discover the same deal now involved a free handset. Obviously all these deals are 'luck of the draw', but £50 is £50! If I was to cancel my current contract…

Vodafone refusing to replace faulty iPhone
I upgraded my phone to an iPhone 3GS in August and it started to shut down intermittently when browsing the Internet a few weeks later. I phoned Vodafone and after struggling to get the lady in the call centre to understand me, she eventually said that the fault was with the sim card so she would send me a new one. When it…
