Setting up an IVA and have some questions - can anyone help please?
Hello I've lurked the forums on here for years, but have finally acknowledged that I can no longer sustain the amount of debt I have so I'm doing something about it, I'm a little bit terrified about what lies ahead and I have lots of questions that I'm hoping someone can help me out with. My tale goes a little like…
How to Avoid Equity Release in Month 54
There has been much discussion on the various IVA forums, with IVA customers understandably concerned about the ‘Equity Release’ clause in their contracts. Fuel has been added to the fire with reports of some customers being compelled to take out a ‘secured loan’ when an attempt to ‘remortgage’ has failed. Needless to say,…
IVA - two years done - Maybe the best move I ever made!
Morning folks, November 2011 - the month I started my IVA. And, so far, it is the best thing I have ever done. Previous to this I was living in a home I purchased in March 2007 which, with the wonderful luxury of hindsight, was perhaps not the best time to buy. But due to a rather expensive divorce, I had little choice so…
Pre DRO activity
Hi all I'm new to this forum but I come here in the hope someone will be able to answer a question for me. I currently have roughly £7000 unsecured debt with various companies (Credit Cards / Payday Loans), however the majority of these debts are now in the hands of debt collection companies. I also have a personal debt to…
DRO question
Hi all, I spoke to an adviser at National Debtline about applying for a DRO and they went through my budget with me but they took my partners income into consideration, then advised we'd need to pay double the fee so I'm assuming we'd be applying separately. If my partner applied for a DRO he's most likely be declined as…
Does IVA impact credit score of others at same address?
If someone has an IVA will others at the same address be affected? Will lenders know that someone at that address is on an IVA and therefore be less willing to lend to others at the same address (even if not financially linked)? Thanks
Insolvency and Rescue Awards 2013
Read this with a wry smile. I have been accused of perhaps putting a little too much faith in ‘customer reviews’ and testimonials etc. Well, for anyone considering a DMP or IVA, perhaps these award winners are worth a look. http://www.insolvencyandrescueawards.co.uk/content/winners This Year's winner of 'Personal…

DRO Assets
I'm having trouble figuring out what would be considered as assets and whether or not they'd be worth anything. Also, my partner pays all the bills including my debt but is running himself into the ground to do it. Do I include him in the claim? Below is a list of all things I own 2 32in TVs (one given to me by my mum) 9…
