Investment Platforms
At a very late stage I am dipping my toe into a Stocks & Shares ISA. I have identified the fund(s) I am interested in and now need suggestions as to the best platform to proceed. I have no knowledge of investing and have neither the time or inclination to put together a portfolio; I have therefore concluded that the best…

Not sure what to do!
I've got around £67K in a First DIrect ISA paying 1.5% and I've got another around £11K in other savings (I don't pay tax). I was thinking of opening a Coventry fixed rate at 2.1% for the £11k. I know I dont want to have the full £85 allowance in one place so putting the extra cash into the Coventry seems to be the best…

Leeds 2yr FRISA issue 65 - was online application form incorrect?
It seems, according to Leeds, it must have been: Helping someone re above. They have been told the application form they submitted was incorrect for type of account. I know the form they submitted was the one that was printed off, as instructed, at end of the online application, and then posted. The letter they have…

2 concurrent Investment ISAs ?
I have an All Share tracker ISA which I pay in a small amount each month totalling a grand a year. Could I use the rest of my ISA limit for another investment product like a self-select shares ISA? I wasn't sure if you could only have another cash ISA product within the annual limit.

Partial Transfers Between Existing Cash ISA's
Hi, I'm hoping someone will be able to help with my confusion regarding the rules for transfer of funds between existing cash ISA's? Basically, I opened a new Loyalty Cash ISA with HSBC this tax year and deposited £1 ("new" money) to activate it. I then arranged for the total balance of a previous years ISA (with…

Clydesdale/Yorkshire Bank ISA transfer delays
Hi, I sent my completed ISA transfer form on 7th April (by handing form into branch to be posted) and it is still not transferred yet. I received a letter on 14th April saying they received it that day (7 days after handing into branch). Has anyone else had similar delays or gone through quicker with Clydesdale/Yorkshire…

I am wanting to transfer my National Counties ISA to Virgin. The transfer authority form asks for the sort code and account number of my existing NC ISA. I am unsure of the sort code. S&S ISA investing at election time
I want to put a wedge in my stocks and shares ISA as early as possible in 15/16. But I have decided to pause for a few weeks, in case the economy goes mental in the event of a hung parliament. I wouldn't want to see my investment deplete in just a few days. My IFA won't speculate either way, but I happen to think the City…

nationwide 2% isa - can i transfer money in via current account?
I have a question about isa rules and if this is allowed... Theres the Nationwide 2% regular saver isa where transfers in are not allowed and you can only put a maximum of £1270 each month. I was going to open a Fixed isa but the term is fixed for two years. Wanted to know could I transfer the full amount before the two years is complete? Also when I transfer will the old isA be closed automatically or do I need to close it somehow? If so does each bank have different closing procedures? Tanks

HSBC Loyalty ISA rate error on recently upgraded HSBC Advance
Has anyone else recently been upgraded automatically by HSBC to an Advance account, and then taken out their Loyalty ISA with the higher interest rate (1.50% for 'Advanced' instead of 1.40% for their 'Bank Account' holders) and the Save Together offer that is available to Advanced account holders? If so you may want to…

Can I open two ISAs but only subscribe to one in the same tax year?
I have quite a lot of savings, so I like to split my money between two banks (the old adage not putting all eggs in one basket). I have an ISA with both banks. Last year the ISA with bank A just sat earning interest, while I opened and paid into the ISA with bank B. With the turn of the new tax year, the interest rates on…

Coventry Poppy ISA
I opened the Coventry Poppy Isa in April 2013 when the rate was 2.6% in the first year and 2% in second year. The 2 years are now up. If I leave the money there, what rate will I be getting now? It says variable but I don't understand what that is. Will I continue to get 2%? Can someone confirm that please. If I am getting…

Barclays ISA transfer in
I've opened a Barclays 2 year fixed ISA today with £0. I started the online transfer procedure but when I got to the 'Will you lose money' or words to that effect I stopped. I want to transfer a 1st May maturing Santander ISA but obviously don't want to lose interest. Does anyone have experience of this transfer process…

Coventry ISA opening vent
I opened a new Coventry Fixed rate ISA on 7th April, but didn't put my money into it immediately, waiting for the account opening process to complete first. I didn't want to send my money into an account completely 'blind', i.e., no way of seeing the balance on screen, etc. It took so long for them to complete the opening,…

Newcastle BS and Nationwide BS Split ISAs
I've been looking at the item on best cash ISA's & in it mentions the Newcastle BS regular saver ISA & a loophole that provides the ability to set up two "split" ISAs at Newcastle & use an instant access one (with transferred from last years ISA) to drip feed the regular saver ISA. The article then mentions the Nationwide…
