Can your pension/S&S ISA be touched when repaying legal costs?
My brother is in a bit of bother & got a lot of paperwork through today. He didn't understand it so asked for help as his solicitor isn't likely to be available until tomorrow. Basically he's got to declare the money to his name. One of the things they want is his cash ISA statement. As he has a Nationwide Flexclusive ISA,…

ISA allowance - 2013/14?
Has it been released yet please? Seems to be calculated by Sep CPI in previous years? Last year seems to have been publicised on 18 October 2011. Other forums seem to think circa 5750 for mini cash. Have I missed something (again!)?

ISA calculator?
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/best-cash-isa#savingscalc Maybe I am being thick at the moment (blasted flu!) but I thought the figures do not add up: "How much will I have in the future" * £12,000 already have * £400 per month * 3.5% * 2 Years Result: £22,806.91 "I'm saving up for.. how much should I save each…

compensation for low rate ISA
I am trying to find out if any members have been able to claim for lost interest when their fixed term ISA was put into a low rate account due to the provider not notifying them (disputed)---My provider never sent any statement when the ISA was active and this contributed to my not acting quickly in challenging this action…

Hi all I have recently invested in a fund within a S&S ISA I have now been told the income from this fund is net with 10% taxed at source and the tax is not reclaimable. Can this be correct ? I thought everything within an ISA is tax free TIA

Stocks and shares ISA - do I need one?
Firstly be gentle please!! Background here is that I always use my annual cash allowance with the best on the market for 1 or 2 years. Porfolio is very risk averse. Apart from the couple of ISAs I have I also have a NS&I above RPI cert. Also half a dozen best buy regular savers on the go (from 4% to 6%) from different…

What to do with old empty ISA?
Hello, Back when I was a student I opened an ISA, I never put any money in it and I still get communications from Smile about it. Having read Martin's guidance at http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/cash-isa-transfers#qa I dont think I am allowed to use that pot to put money in now, with that in mind should I just…

S&S ISA - Changing funds used
Right now I'm using the Blackrock UK Equity Tracker in my S&S ISA at HL. As far as I can tell, I can just it inside the ISA and then reinvest in another fund - at least I don't see any fees in regards to this anywhere on HL. That's pretty normal, right? I was pondering going to the HSBC FTSE all shares or the SWIP one, but…

M&S Cash ISA - can I just move it whenever I like?
I have an M&S Money Advantage cash ISA. I phoned them and they told me this morning that I can move it away from them whenever I liked with no penalty. So can I just sign up for another ISA less than a year after I started this one? I'm a little hazy on the rules.

Investment options for a child stuck with a Child Trust Fund ?
Is there any point in feeding more money into CTFs these days in the hope that they may be commutable into Junior ISAs at some point in the future ? With limited sums invested, any change to fixed fees will erode the investment to zero over time and this is already happening apparently with some trusts. The only way to…

M&S Money - unable to contact them
Hello, I'm having problems getting through to speak to them about my ISAs. I've been using 01244 688632 from my mobile, and have tried a few times but gave up being on hold after 20 minutes. I've even emailed them and they haven't come back to me. All I want to do is change my address! Also, on the certificate, what is the…

Birmingham Miodshires ISA Transfer problems
I requested an ISA transfer from BM through Santander a month ago. Santander have written to me twice to tell me that they have had no response from BM when contacted. I phoned BM today and was told that they had received the letters and had ignored them as it was a 2 year ISA and only a year had passed. I explained that I…

I thought it was going to be straightforward.....
but little did I know. :( Being that I will shortly have £200 a months to put aside (to cover insurance, tax, MOT, holiday etc.), I visited a few banks and building societies, to enquire of their instant access cash ISA interest rates. Yorkshire bank tell me I lose the interest, in any month I draw out some cash, except…

Fixed or Variable?
It looks like it may be a better deal to take the M&S fixed 1 year ISA and pay the penalty for early withdrawal than take the lower rate instant access. Any ideas if this stacks up........or am I missing something?

What happens regards ISAs & savings once sent to prison? Anything?
If you end up having to to a prison sentence, just wondering what happens, if anything, to the money in your name - specifically ISAs & from that also savings accounts. Not so much bank accounts, but while i'm enquiring about the first two, i may as well include that in the question also. Genuine question.

How low can they go?
I was disappointed to be offered 3% from Virgin for when my fixed ISA matures end of next week and thought I could do much better. However I sent for the Saga 3.30% for 3 years and that's since been withdrawn and replaced by 2.75% so has the Post Office offer. At this rate I'll just be relieved to fix at anything…

M and G stocks and shares ISA
Bought some of these a few years ago and very pleased with performance, recent valuations about £60k split between Recovery and UK Growth unit trusts/OEIC's. Been marketed by M and G to invest this years allowance but noticed that if I do this thru the likes of Hargreaves Lansdowne I can avoid upfront fees. Seems strange…
