How long it takes to transfer a Cash ISA?
I requested First Direct to transfer to them my Cash ISA with Barclays, there isn't a huge amount of money (much less than this year allowance!) - however in Barclays Internet Banking I don't see my ISA anymore, nor I see it in First Direct. Called both banks, 1stDirect said that they sent all the documents to Barclays,…

Dumb question about S&S ISAs
Sorry about this. I have some money to invest, which I am happy to tie up for 10 to 20 years. I already have cash ISAs, but would like to put some funds into S&S. I have been looking at Vanguard's Life Strategy fund, but have no idea how to put this into an ISA. I have an endowment policy maturing next year, and have…

Releasing money from ISAs or
I have money in stocks and shares ISAs and also in unit trusts. I need to release around £10K. There are no penalties for taking money out of either of my investments but from where would I best release the money? The unit trusts would be down to 0 and the ISAs to 18K. Both give me the cash within a week and I can start to…

open another S&S ISA with another provider paying in another £50? This won't take me over the amount allowed to be invested - i am just checking if it is ok to have two ISA's with different providers. Cheers.

Mis-selling of Mini Isa by Insurance Co

The insurance co. told me…

ISA and individual shares
Hi, I buy shares now and again as a means of investment and find it interesting. I feel I may be missing a trick here. Should I be buying these shares as a stocks and shares ISA so I do not incur the interest and capital gains tax. I have maxed out on my cash ISA but do not use the stocks and shares element. I am not…

Disposing of S&S ISAs
I have built up around £50K of stocks and shares ISAs with a wealth management company but now wish to terminate my relationship with them. I don't particularly want to transfer them to another ISA manager as I would rather manage cash. Are there any points I should consider when cashing these ISAs?
