Over 50s allowance Q?
Ok so from what i understand the allowance for over 50s increases from £3600 to £5100 already. My parents haven't used any of their allowance for this year so they can open a isa each for £5100 and then after april they are allowed to top this up by another £5100 (£10,200), is this correct? :o

Hi, I'm a basic-rate tax payer and I've just opened a S&S ISA - what, if any, interest will I pay? If it makes any difference the ISA is with Fidelity and the funds currently in the ISA are: Artemis Strategic Assets Acc Invesco Perpetual Corporate Bond Inc (with income re-invested) Invesco Perpetual High Income Acc JPM…

Should interest remain in ISA?
Hi, I think I already know the answer to this, but thought I would ask all you experts! Is it best to leave the interest earnt on an ISA within that account rather than having it paid into your link account? Seems to make sense to leave it their to accumulate tax free...? Is that logic correct? Thanks...

ISA (Also withrew money by mistake!)
First of all I have an ISA with Halifax and we access it online. We only started it in April and put the £3600 in there. Earlier this week I tried to see if I could put more in and it let me top it up to £5000 which seemed strange?! It is only 3% so i was wondering who we could go to that offers a better rate, if any? Also…

ISA rates unfair
Hi there, how does everyone feel about the banks and building societies taking advantage of us all?. Let me explain my gripe , if you open a fixed rate bond say for 4 years as long as the minimum balance is deposited in accordance with the account rules the interest rate should be the same regardless of it being isa status…

S&S ISA - Effective annual limit
Hi, I have an S&S ISA backed mortgage - as far as I can see, it's just a S&S ISA with a fancy name and targetted to a (hopeful) particular amount in X years time. But my question is about the S&S ISA & I think irrelevant of the "mortgage" tag. I pay a monthly figure from which there are deductions -- life insurance &…

S&S ISAs - What is actually tax free?
As I understand it dividends on most stocks and shares within ISA still incur the basic rate of tax. Question is, is it possible and/or sensible to choose investments where basic tax can be reclaimed? If so, what strategy? What things actually get tax free status these days? Eg I have British Land and Land Securities…

How to transfer a previous year’s Cash ISA when I have maxed my 2009-10 ISA?
I have a stocks & shares ISA 09-10 at the over-50’s limit of £10,200. Meanwhile I’m trying to sort out my C&G Cash ISA from 02-03 (~ £12k) which has a negligible rate of interest. I have tried several new providers who accept transfer of a previous year’s Cash ISA (eg C&G themselves, Abbey, F’Direct) but all seem to…
